The finishing steps that make product shelf-ready

Label application, batch and expiry coding, cartoning, shrink wrapping and palletisation — for our own filled batches, or for product you bring us already filled.

A perfectly filled tub with a crooked label is a rejected tub. Packing is where careful production either becomes saleable stock or doesn't — and because it sits at the end of the line, it's also where time pressure tends to pile up. Our answer is to treat labelling and packing as controlled production steps with their own checks, not as an afterthought raced through before home time.

Labelling that survives scrutiny

Pressure-sensitive labels are applied with alignment verified at setup and through the run — because a label that drifts, wrinkles or bubbles fails a retail audit as surely as a wrong fill weight. We work from your supplied artwork and label stock, and where containers are dusty by nature (as powder tubs often are), the labelling point is managed so adhesion doesn't pay the price for the product inside. Labelling can happen in-line with filling, or as a standalone service for product arriving pre-filled from elsewhere — a surprisingly common request from brands whose original filler couldn't label.

Batch and expiry coding you can trace

Every retail unit is inkjet-coded in-line with its batch number and expiry or best-before date, and the coding is verified against the batch record before packing proceeds. This is the detail that turns a batch record from paperwork into traceability: if a question ever arises about a unit on a shelf, the code on that unit points to the blend, the fill, the shift and the day. Illegible or missing codes are treated as a line stop, not a cosmetic issue.

Cartoning, shrink wrapping and palletisation

From there, product moves through cartoning to your retail specification — sleeves, display cartons or shelf-ready trays — then shrink wrapping for multipacks and transit protection. Finished cartons are stacked, wrapped and palletised to your distribution requirements: pallet configuration, layer counts, labels and shrink all specified up front so stock arrives at your 3PL or warehouse ready to be put away, not repacked.

Packing for powder is a specific skill

Powder product punishes careless packing in ways liquids don't. Residue on container exteriors skews labels and cartons; fine powders escape into case seams; lightweight tubs crush under the wrong stacking pattern. Our packing stations are set up around those realities — a wipe-and-inspect step before labelling where the product needs it, carton specs matched to the container's crush rating, and pallet patterns that protect the lightest unit in the stack. It's the powder-first thinking applied to the last metre of the process.

Bring us your product, or the whole job

Packing is available three ways: in-line with our own filling and blending (the most common), as a standalone finishing service for product you supply already filled, or as part of a full contract run where we handle everything from raw material to wrapped pallet. Whichever way you come in, the QA release applies the same way — finished stock is held until the batch record is complete and signed, so what leaves Ingleburn is fully documented stock.
